"Retrofit" is the name given to the action of converting a car with a combustion engine over 5 years old into an electric car.
This transformation requires the extraction of the heat engine, the fuel tank and the exhaust system. Then, the vehicle is equipped by an electric motor, batteries or fuel cells and a charging socket. This process already exists in many European countries.
We regularly receive requests to know if we plan to allow the retrofit with our compressed air engine. Technically, this poses no difficulty. However, our vehicles are designed around the compressed air engine: bodywork, weight, rolling resistance, recycling… the design of our vehicles is understood as a whole. Also, the "retrofit" is not part of our immediate imperatives.
