The accumulation of the energy from a renewable source, then destocking it with very good efficiency, is the challenge that our technology of compressed air engines resolves. Our high-tech reversible motors compress ambient air in high-pressure tanks of different capacities at a pressure in between 150 and 250 bars.

The reservoirs are composed of filament winding carbon fibers surrounding a liner. These tanks are already used for vehicles with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and are designed for a using pressure of 250b and a burst pressure of more than 550 bars. There is no risk of fire, explosion, or chemical leakage. The endurance of these tanks is 20,000 cycles, which is more than any other alternative. The use of carbon fiber does not require rare earth or raw material linked to only specific countries, thus not creating geopolitical problems.

One of the applications of the Compressed Air engine technology is to harness the motion generated to produce displacement. These engines can replace almost all the existing engines in the vehicles, however, to increase the efficiency to the best POC vehicle, as well as the manufacturing process, MDI uses its particular chassis design and materials for selected vehicles.

Energy Storage :
The preferred source of energy generation is a renewable source that will power the compressor to store the energy in the reservoirs either electrically using the electric compressors, or mechanically using the system that utilizes mechanical forces such as wind, tidal, or hydro force. As MDI’s technology is highly modular and scalable, this system can be customized to suit any needs.
